As per IMO resolution, from 1 JULY 2018, Any IMO vessel have to be equipped with ECDIS.
Only 6 months from now (1 FEB 2018), every ship have to be fitted with ECDIS. Therefore any deck officers have to be trained and certified ECDIS operation.
You have to get 2 training programes:
1/ Generic ECDIS: IMO Model course 1.27
2/ ECDIS Type Specific Training.
